How We Help
Hope:
Sharing God's Message of Love
Spiritual care can be most important for each child to know Christ and His love where they grow up surrounded by His grace and power.
This year we have been blessed to have an instructor dedicated to teaching the Christian faith regularly in public schools. To date, 148 children have made the decision to follow Christ.
Food Security and Nutrition
Nutrition
The appropriate type of rice with beans, sugar, and cooking oil can provide essential nutritional requirements for good health.
Many Children Are Hungry
Many in this area have one meal daily or every-other day.
The Manna Project
A new initiative, called the Manna Project is now serving daily meals to around 2400 school children. The Manna Project has provided over 460,000 meals since inception.
Changing Lives
The impact of the Manna Project has been very positive. Children who abandoned school are now back. Absenteeism has dropped to near zero. And all students are now attending term end exams. Lives are being dramatically improved. Your gifts can help sustain this nutrition program.
Clean Water Project
Clean water is essential for the health of everyone in the community. Evon’s Hope partnered with the Amazi Water Organization to drill a fresh water well for the Gatumba community.
Education
Assistance
We are currently assisting children with fees for public education. Future plans are to move some children into the Evon's Hope Center where they can live in a safe Christian family environment.
Long Term Vision
The long term vision is to open a nursery and a school for grades one, two, and three, adding a grade each year after. Along with this will be a clinic for health checks.
