Welcome to Evon's H pe
We ask you to pray for the children in Gatumba, Burundi, mostly orphans, who have suffered through famine, disease, the consequence of political upheaval and a devastating flood. These children need love above all else. Evon’s Hope started providing nutrition, education, and shelter for more than 200 children in Gatumba and is making strides to provide full time services to these in desperate need. In addition, the nutrition program has been expanded to provide daily meals for 2400+ children. Generous donations make our efforts possible.
"The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.' " (Matthew 25:40 NIV)
Summer 2024 News
All across Burundi and East Central Africa the flooding has been devastating. Gatumba has seen it and much of the entire community is underwater. Crocodiles and Hippos have been in town and the Burundi Government has been prompt to evacuate many families.
Evon’s Hope was quick to make adjustments with its Manna feeding ministry. The program has been implemented in three new schools in Burundi: ECOFO GISEZERWA, BUGARI, AND BUTSIMBA.
And, we continue assisting with the Roots Transformation RUHUKA which runs the Nezerwa Orphanage in Bujumbura
One hundred eighteen miles NW of Nairobi in Kenya we are feeding 259 children at Bethel School in NYAHURURU, Laikipia county.
Fifty miles South of Nairobi, at Sajiloni Village, we are working with AIC Girls Primary School, former Africa Inland Church (AIC) - now in the hands of the government of Kenya - to provide a safe haven for young girls fleeing their plight of being sold as wives to the many nomadic men of the desert.
Evon’s Hope remains vigilant in its effort to be Jesus Christ on the earth today. THANK YOU for your continued support and prayers.
Evon's Hope - A Transforming Ministry Since 2014
The Evon's Hope Ministry started in 2014 to give a better life to Burundi children by making sure they can go to school and have somewhere safe to go after school. Also, for them to have somewhere to sleep, eat and have clean water to drink.
Our first shipment to help was in November of 2015. We sent shoes and clothes. We then partnered with John Peak and the Amazi Water Organization to drill a well for clean water.
Now that we are providing basic needs, with the Evon's Hope center, we want to take it to the next level and provide training for the children after school so they can better themselves. We want to provide children with life skills, such as making clothes, cooking, simple trades, driving, etc. to equip these young people so they can eventually earn a living and hopefully re-invest in the community.
Drilling a water well in Gatumba
In 2020, an initiative called the Manna Project was started to serve meals to around 2400 school children on a daily basis. The impact of the Manna Project has been very positive.
When people hear the name Evon's Hope, we want them to think about how we have changed the life of young people for the greater. We don't want Evon's Hope to stop in Africa. We want this mission to eventually be worldwide. We need additional support in order to realize our vision.
